ABOUT
I’m a composer, sound artist, and musician based in Cardiff, Wales. I compose music for film, television, stage, and installation, and employ a range of approaches rooted in traditional composition, ’found-sound’, sampling and synthesis, amongst others.
My love for music developed as a child when I started receiving guitar lessons, and my interests soon turned towards experiments with a 4-track cassette tape recorder, using it as a tool for composition. Originally from rural North Wales, I moved in 2010 to study at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, during which time I created music for installations, theatre productions and short films. After graduating in 2014, I began working professionally as a composer, sound artist and recording engineer, and was later that year awarded the Oxford / Sennheiser Electronic Music Prize.
In recent years, I have composed music to productions for the BBC, Channel 4 & S4C (The Light In The Hall / Y Golau, Hinterland / Y Gwyll, Hidden / Craith, Bregus), and National Theatre Wales (Iliad, Storm.1, Tide Whisperer), in addition to collaborating with individual artists and groups.
I currently hold a writing position on the creative team at John Hardy Music and perform with Boy Azooga.
